Higher Quality Street Fighter X Tekken DLC Costume Images

Andriasang made a post with higher quality images for the DLC costumes that appeared in the NicoNico stream for the SSFIV:AE Ver.2012 national tournament a couple of days ago. They look funkier than we thought. Images after the break.

Also be sure to check out Andriasang’s post for more images from the event showing Ono and Harada being kicked in the bum by the SFxT girls, and more images of the game’s merchandise!

I still don’t understand why people support capcom in fighting games. My last game from them was MVC3 after the stupid move of releasing a new MVC3 less then a year i stopped supporting them. I still don’t get the gamers that complain yet still buy the game : / for me i’d get it used or wait for the defenitive version which im sure this will have, lol or maybe not if katsuhiro harada talked some sense to capcom.

Anyways, say what you want about Mortal Kombat but it is the most jam packed fighting game i have ever seen. They treated their fans right, sad to see capcom do this and get away with it……and gamers STILL buy the game/DLC. I just don’t get it. Especially since now they found locked characters ON DISK. No excuse, really. Then people say why this developer does day 1 DLC or why activision does this or why madree meno does that… it’s because gamers let them do that -_- if you vote with your wallet and say no, they would change because they are a business.

    1. My stance towards these shenanigans is as follows: if I will throw away the game just because of the company’s questionable business model because I want to keep value vs quantity then I’d have done this to a lot of other games.

My way of making a judgement whether to support or not support a game due to these depend on the game itself. As an example for Marvel vs Capcom 3, I enjoyed playing it for the 9 months it was out for. Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 came out in the same year yet added 12 characters and re-balance to the game that I have been playing the entire duration almost exclusively, priced at a $40 tag. Because it enhanced and refreshed the game for me, I thought I threw my money at something worthwhile my time.

I think it might be the same case here; SFxT’s retail game is a package that you will enjoy until fall, where you’ll be dishing out an additional price for an update that refreshes your experience. If you simply do not care for the game then do not buy the DLC. As I pointed out in the MvC3 example above, SFxT will probably get the same treatment from me personally if I DO enjoy the game for the entire duration till the DLC lands. Capcom did mention that they are still studying pricing and said in their official statement that it’ll be a good deal so I think it would be rational that we wait and see how much they plan to charge for this. Remember, UMvC3+MvC3+Jill+Shuma = $110 in total. Capcom should be smart enough not to charge this much for the update.

But that’s the problem the amount of people not willing to support are too low and that is why nothing will change but still for me i think many other games deserve the money and time (I aint big on fighting games nor do i care for tournaments so that explains my reasons for seeing other games being much worth it)

However, lets say i am a big fighting game fan still we are talking about 12 characters that’s like a whole new roster and for me if im a big fighting fan i need to master these characters and know the ins and outs so i could be one of if not the best at what im playing. So, for me not buying the DLC just because i think its a rip off will ultimately hurt me because there are other people most likely who will pay for it no problem. It’s just a matter of principle. Im gonna quote a guy from the Gamespot forums that i agreed with…

“DLC characters is that it WILL unbalance Street Fighter X Tekken. Different characters, different abilities, different rosters are available to different people based on not only their console/handheld, but if they choose to spend money on monetary items. A single gem can break someone’s entire strategy strictly because I may have bought one gem pack that he didn’t.

These are the problems DLC presents and you are actively encouraging it. What if there is a defensive gem that could absolutely crush anyone else that doesn’t have that gem? I could equip that gem, shut down even the best strategies and use my bad skills to win every game. It’s called PAYING TO WIN.

The core aspect of a fighting game is its characters. To truly understand a fighting game you have to understand all of the match-ups, and it really sucks for multiplayer when different character rosters are available to different people based on willingness or ability to spend extra money. It’s especially bad when the characters they’re charging you extra for are already on the disc. ”

As for MVC3, it’s so lackluster because capcom released SF: AE edition(which released much later than SF4) and you would expect replay, tournament mode and all that other good stuff to be available in MVC3 but no, for some reason it’s so barebones that it’s mindboggling and then after 9 months we see the what was supposed to be original MVC3 and even then we dont get everything in UMVC3 that we got from SF:AE which got many new modes + characters + balancing than SF4.

Oh and for some reason, they didn’t update MVC3 with patches or anything…they just forgot it, lol. They could easily fix balancing issues by patching just like mortal kombat is doing…..FOR FREE. Heck, COD and Battlefield 3 are doing balancing issues patches for free.

This was my reaction when UMVC3  got announced…

I know capcom is been doing this since ages but before gamers were cheaper, standards change and now its like they are on a DLC money grabbing ripping off customers rampage.

Why is it not stopping? because people will still buy it (the casuals who don’t know anything) and fighting fans will have no choice but to do so to be up to date in the tournament scene and all that. IF every one at EVO just gave the FU to Capcom fighting games i will bet they will change with a snap of a finger by making the characters as unlockable characters just like the good old days and then after that they will change their stupid business decisions for their sake, lol.

You’re right about that. For me i don’t care since i am a not a big fighting fan so i wouldn’t care for the “DLC” characters, however…I am looking at it from a big fighting fan perspective and what i am seeing is if i want to be in  the now with the other big fighter fans (because im sure they wouldn’t care if they spend more then 100$ on the game) majboor i buy the DLC so i could be great in tournaments and what not.

The problem here is the DLC is already done and complete on disk, if you remember the old days you would play to unlock or do something special to unlock these characters now all you must do is pay for it. Does that sound right? I mean for me i don’t care since i am not as i said a big fighting fan so i wouldn’t care if i fought someone who has a character i don’t know anything about but for a fighter fan he must because he wants to be better at the game, no doubt. Here is where the problem lies, it’s that big fighting fans must buy the DLC because capcom know they will because they have no choice unless everyone at the tournaments wegfo eb 2eed wa7da and said F capcom business decesions we are better of making tournamets for other fighting games such as King Of Fighters, Tekken, Blazblue, Mortal Kombat.etc

THEN you will know what they would do? they will make the DLC as unlockable characters and they would change their business decisions regarding DLC in fighting games. I don’t even want to talk about DLC gems and how it may force some people to buy certain gems to fight against other people who bought cheap ass gems to fight with.

I can’t see anyone with a common sense to say, yes, this is right and i am ok with it. Unless you are like me who doesn’t care about the game, ok but looking at it from a big fighting fans perspective and its really messed up.

OR if they made tournaments and excluded all the DLC characters. Then i can see no problem with it and i can see why a big fighting fan would obviously have no problems about Capcom’s questionable business decisions since the tournaments ban any DLC character but, this is highly unlikely. We are talking about 12 characters, not to mention big named ones. So, yeah. : /

      2. Yeah no one can deny how messed up this is, yet I have stated my reasons when it comes to the value vs content argument. Don’t need to repeat myself seldom times the argument keeps looping, lol.

In any case if you don’t think the DLC will do much to your experience with the game simply don’t buy it. That way you smite both Capcom and the business model overall. If you think it’ll add value to your experience then buy it. That simple.

          Yeah, lol.

Yup, i’ll get the game used and not bother with the DLC, obviously.
