Resident Evil Getting SOCOM’ed?

Although this is a rumor, it seems that Capcom is truly considering partnerships with Western developers to work on their important IP’s. Dead Rising 2 was developed by Blue Castle Games (a Canadian developer), Devil May Cry is going to Ninja Theory (England based developer) and now it seems like Resident Evil might be developed by Slant Six Games, also a Canadian developer.

Slant Six  Games are known for developing the SOCOM series for the PlayStation platform and it looks like (assuming that this rumor holds much water) the next Resident Evil will be co-op based.

Excerpt from Kotaku:

A document forwarded to Kotaku indicates that a new, team-based Resident Evil game is currently in development at Slant Six. The developer is responsible for SOCOM:U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation for the PlayStation 3 as well as two iterations for the PSP, Tactical Strike and Fireteam Bravo 3. Named (or codenamed) in the document as Resident Evil: Raccoon City, Slant Six looks to be staffing up to bring even more zombie game development to Vancouver.
