Steam Now Has Remote Game Installation (Beta)

Steam now allows users to purchase, download and install your new games on their PCs through the browser client. This can be done by applying to the Steam Beta program. More info after the break.

Via Tested:

To enable this feature, you have to opt in to the Steam Beta program from your desktop client. After that, your purchased games list in your SteamCommunity profile will show a download icon next to games that aren’t installed. Click on that button to begin a download–you can then refresh to check the download completion percentage, though the browser won’t show active download speeds. Of course, your PC or Mac also has to already be turned on with the local Steam client running–which is the case for many gamers who keep their computers powered up 24/7.
