I really loved The Darkness 2 but i still place the first one above this one abit for a few reasons. The first part had an unforgettable opening, a semi open world which you get to explore and take missions or side missions, DR2 is very linear and DR1 is longer than Darkness 2. The gameplay in Darkness 1, i had no problem with but some people do and for the most part Darkness 2 fixed all the problems and improved alot (Quadriple handeling).
I prefer the first game’s graphics but this leans more towards the comic book so, no harm done. Most of what happens in DR1 is very personal and when you go through the game you really feel the protagonist’s anger thanks to how well fleshed out the story and characters are in the first and in the second game. For me though, a7dath el awal a7la men el thany.Without a doubt though, Darkness 2 is hella fun and i can’t wait for DR3 (judging by the ending) Everything is also great here story, voice everything just like the first except that it’s a little bit on the short side. I recommend all to play this game and for me 7aram ina el awal ma 5athat 7agha, hopefully new people who play DR2 will go out and buy DR1 because it’s just awesome. It shouldn’t be missed.
I didn’t try the online co op but played that mode but i played it offline (which you can), it’s just a mode of going through enemies and killing the guy that is targeted for you in the mission select however i heard it plays great online but doesn’t add anything new to the table of course except for the characters you get to choose with each having their own abilities instead of the demons (They have relics which contain darkness matter so that’s why, they have darkness powers) People who collect the collectibles in DR2 through the single player can know more about each relic by going in the library in the mansion and you can see and read about what you collected. All in all an amazing first game and awesome sequel, both shouldn’t be missed.
