Rumors have been floating around for quite some time now, and we reported previously that a new portable would appear from SNK Playmore featuring Neo Geo games. It is now officially confirmed that a new portable, dubbed the Neo Geo X Portable will be released in the second quarter of 2012. Hit the jump to read more.

According to Famitsu’s report, Neo Geo X will be released in the second quarter of 2012 and will come bundled with 20 Neo Geo classics, including King of Fighters ’94, Metal Slug, and Samurai Showdown. Tommo Inc will release the device in America. Blaze will handle release duties in Europe, the Middle East and Australia. A distributor for Japan and Asia will be announced shortly.
