The recent announcement of including Akira in the next Dead or Alive game took the web by storm, showing footage of an intact Akira from Virtua Fighter invading the DOA 5 space. A recent Famitsu interview suggests Akira may not be alone. More after the break!
Via Andriasang:
In Famitsu this week, Team Ninja master Yousuke Hayashi reveals that it was he who asked Sega to let Team Ninja include Akira in the game. “Ask” may not be the right word — something closer to attacking Sega in order to get approval would be more accurate.
Hayashi says that, because they’re going to all the trouble of holding this collaboration, Akira probably won’t be the only character. It’s unclear if he means we’ll get more Virtua Fighter characters, or if he’s referring to other franchises.
Hayashi also mentioned that Akira plays JUST LIKE his Virtua Fighter counterpart, with all his gameplay intact. It makes sense since both games have the same button commands (G, P, K) except DOA has an extra button for counters, which you could see Akira do in the trailer. Who else do you think will make it into DOA 5?
