With GamesCom happening now, it was inevitable that Yoshinori Ono and Katsukiro Harada, the producers of Super Street Fighter 4 and Tekken series respectively, would show us more of the upcoming clash between the two franchises. They showed the same gameplay footage/demo they did at Comic Con and Harada had a little surprise to add to the mix. He introduced us to the first piece of “unfinished” art for his side of Tekken x Street Fighter. Ryu was the star of this and here are his yet unfinished character model prototypes. You can clearly see that, for now, they are using Paul Phoenix’s Gi as a base for Ryu’s Gi since they haven’t added newer clothing data to their engine. Hopefully it turns out to look very nice on the Tekken 6 engine by the time they’re half way through development. You may notice in the second image that Ryu is standing next to another character which seems like Jin from the little bit of hair that barely shows off the corner.
