Japanese Devs Delay & Cancels Some Games

In the wake of the recent, devastating events that happened in Japan, some game developers have delayed some of their upcoming titles, and one game in particular got canceled.

Here’s the list of games that got affected:

– Yakuza: Of The End was delayed till an unknown date.

– Motorstorm: Apocalypse was also delayed for having a race track that takes place in a city that had an earthquake destroy it.

– Marvel vs Capcom 3: New character DLC (Shuma-Gorath and Jill Valentine) were supposed to be released in Japan today, however it got delayed, Europe and US release schedules remain the same.

– Dragon Age II and certain Xbox Live subscription cards were also delayed.

– Disaster Report 4: This game was canceled all along (it is a game that takes place in a natural disaster-filled world and due to the recent events, the release of this game would be of bad taste).

– Square Enix closed the servers that host both Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XIV. They will, however, provide a free month for their subscribers when they’re back on.

– Konami also closed down the servers for Metal Gear Online, also till an unknown date.
The closed servers were done in order to conserve energy so it’s nice to see that the devs care and hopefully they pull through with the very unfortunate circumstances.
