Hori made some announcements in tandem with Sega’s recently confirmed Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown Japanese release where they showed two new arcade sticks. One tailored for Virtua Fighter 5, while the other is a new line called Fighting Edge. More after the break.
About the Virtua Fighter stick, via Andriasang:
Quickly following Sega’s announcement of a Japanese release for Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown, peripheral maker Hori has shared details on a Final Showdown arcade stick. This will be released in the summer (presumably simultaneous with the Final Showdown game) for ¥13,800, sold exclusively through Horistore.com.
The stick mirrors the Lindbergh Universal Cabinet in terms of button and lever layout. The parts for the lever and buttons are from Sanwa Denshi, maker of the same parts for the arcade cabinet.
And here’s more about the Fighting Edge stick, via Andriasang:
Hori’s Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown arcade stick may be exclusively for PlayStation 3. But the peripheral maker also has an original stick on the way for both PS3 and Xbox 360 owners.
The new stick is called Fighting Edge on PS3 and Fighting Edge EX on Xbox 360. It features newly developed lever and button units from Hori.
The ¥19,800 stick will be sold exclusively through Horistore.com starting in May. Access the product page here.
The new Fighting Edge arcade stick looks fancy, though with the history of Hori parts it’s quality is yet to be known. Guess we’ll have to wait till May to find out!
