The decision was made due to the poor sales in the US for the franchise. Like Monster Hunter before, Valkyria Chronicles just didn’t perform well in the States which made the developer shift their focus to Japan. It did pretty well there. Usually fans get to translate these kind of games if all hope is lost so there’s still a shred of hope left.

The problem is that if the prequel doesn’t sell then they know the sequel won’t sell either. I think it’s because those kinds of games aren’t popular in the West as much as in Japan.
But yeah, this sucks and I hope the fans will end up translating the game.
I tried to play the first Valkyria (passed 5 levels?) but I didnt finish it. it didnt blew me away.
