Final Fantasy XI will be turning 10 years old this year, and Square Enix will be celebrating this anniversary this June at Vana Fest 2012. Read more after the break.
Via Andriasang:
The “A Decade of Final Fantasy XI Vana Festa 2012” event will be held on June 23 and June 24. The exact location of the event isn’t clear yet, but based off the map Square Enix posted at the the event official site it appears to be in the Tokyo area.
So there may be some new announcements for the game, but I am going to make a few calls:
1- A new expansion (a proper one, not the past Abyssea stuff) that adds some new classes, new areas and story.
2- A possible PS Vita version announcement. They touched on this a while ago but never really made any plans, however; they were interested in making it happen. This should be interesting if they go through it, since FFXI is basically a bandwidth friendly game (playable via dial up!) and with the Vita’s 3G capabilities it’ll be good to go.
Let’s see how much of that would happen. June is not so far away, bring on Vana Fest!
