Atlus announced that it’ll be taking over publishing Dragon’s Crown, which is being developed by Odin Sphere’s Vanillaware. The game is now set for a 2013 release on both PS3 and PS Vita. More after the break.
Via Side Mission:
Atlus’ Aram Jabbari announced on the PlayStation.blog today that the publisher was picking up the ball dropped by previously publisher Ignition. Even better, some Atlus developers are helping Vanillaware produce the game. It’s now slated for 2013, with the following explanation.
“When we took over the reins, we realized that a lot of the information made available to the public was ambitious and unfounded conjecture,” Jabbari writes. “The release timing, the pricing, and many of the features detailed for fans and members of the press were simply unknowable at the time they were disseminated (and frankly we were quite shocked to find out that many of the details were made public unbeknownst to even the developers).”
Yikes.
The only bad news about Dragon’s Crown is that it won’t carry the previously announced ultra low price of $29.99. But it’s coming to PS3 and Vita (hopefully with cloud saves, Atlus?) and we’re happy for that.
